Remember when i said at the beginning of my writing in this blog that i didn't want to start my blog till now because my life before was a big lie? Apparently, all Libyans felt the same .So Libyan people decided to start their new free life that they deserve.
17Feb is the day the free Libya was born .Freedom of Libya and Libyans was created and still being created by the pure blood of our brave rebels. The start of this 17Feb revolution was the same as the start of Tunisian and Egyptian revolutions, by announcing on Facebook to go out in peaceful demonstrations demanding for our rights and our freedom. But two days before that day, on Tuesday, a young lawyer was arrested for some reasons. This lawyer is the one who was brave enough to stand against the unfair government asking for some Libyan families’ rights to know what happened to their beloved children who was arrested and killed in "Bo Sleam" jail without any reason, and they didn't even have the chance to see their dead bodies. So, these families went out in a peaceful demonstration in front of the security directorate demanding the government to let that young lawyer go. Lots of guys at the street saw these families, and these families were nothing but mothers of the killed children in "Bo Sleam" .Those guys got excited and joined these mothers. The number of the demonstrators was rising and the government got little scared .Finally they let the lawyer go.
That day i was at work, so i don't know what really happened .But i heard some demonstrations next to my work cheering for Gaddafi and his miserable revolution. So i thought that this would be the thing as always, cheering for Gaddafi and everything will be finished .I was wrong because the next day, at night as i remember, was the start of the real revolution. Some guys went to the street that is called "Maidan Al-Shagara" .They just cheered for freedom and they were faced with the security forces. Those forces started to spray the demonstrators with a liquid that appeared to be a burning liquid not a hot water as it should be!
The demonstrations that night were over and the next morning was quiet as i remember. But i was scared and i didn't go to work that day which was the 17 of Feb because i felt that something big will happen and i was right. I called my best friend at 12 p.m. and she was at work at "Al-Hawwari" hospital .I told her to go home because i felt that there's something wrong will happen. She got scared too and as soon as she got home the war began .Fortunately, Mom was home and not at work that day but my little brother was at school .Mom's work and my little brother's school are at the center of the war. So we called my little brother to leave the school and come home as fast as he can. And so he and some of his friends did .Some other of his friends joined the demonstrations which was next to his school. He came home and all that I remember from that day and the four next days is nothing but bombs, shots, people calling "Al-jazeera" channel shouting for the world to save us, videos on "Al-jazeera" showing places in my city filled with blood and dead people and I couldn't believe that this is happening in my city .I couldn't sleep or eat for four days under the sound of bombs and all that. All what I did in those days is praying , reading the Holy Quran, crying and praying to Allah to support and help our brave rebels against this killer ,praying to Allah to save Benghazi from this huge slaughter.
After that week, Benghazi started a new life out of Gaddafi iron hold .Meaning, pure freedom with great feeling mixed with sadness about the sad events that occurred the first week. We went out wandering around Benghazi exploring the hurtful reality about what happened in Benghazi and checking the destroyed military places that Gaddafi forces were hiding in it during their killing for innocents.
This is photos taken by me for the biggest military barrack in the east of Libya which was at the middle of the city .This is where 800 young boys and men (rebels) were killed when they were protecting Benghazi from Gaddafi forces .Those brave men gave their life for “FREEDOM” in the bravest ways that you can ever imagine .They are heroes of the century for me. They were killed in two days in the worst ways ever.
This place was nightmare for Benghazi. I didn't know that before!! I thought this was a place where Gaddafi stays in when he comes to Benghazi as his home!! But actually this was a huge jail with rooms underground for torturing innocent prisoners with the worst ways ever. They’re being tortured to death, and for what cause?? The surprise is "FOR NOTING!!" .They are just normal people who were talking about freedom and democracy. All of them are smart people, students, doctors, engineers and teachers who had dreams to make Libya a better place for living which Gaddafi hated and was fighting whoever tries to think about Libya.
You know what? Benghazi is not the only place which had these sad events .There were Darna and Albeda which had the same events for 3 days .And the city which breaks our hearts is our capital city "Tripoli" .In the 20th of February people in there went out in peaceful demonstrations refusing what was happening in Benghazi and the rest of the Libyan cities in the east and the result of that was between 300 and 400 dead bodies in just 2 hours!! Followed that a series of killing, torturing and kidnapping till this moment when i'm writing these words.
Another city which breaks our hearts is "Al-zawia" in the east of Tripoli. This is the first city that fell under the army forces hold. People from there were calling, shouting and crying for help, even men did that!! You can't even imagine what happened in there. It was a real slaughter.
Misrata , Ajdabia and Nafosa mountain are the other cities which saw and still see the worst types of torturing ,kidnapping and killing from Gaddafi forces. There are also the small towns and villages which have been completely destroyed by the Gaddafi forces.
Our national transitional council said that we need more than 400 milliard Libyan dinars to rebuild what were destroyed by Gaddafi forces.
